There's no question that social media is rapidly becoming one of the quickest ways to reach new employees and customers alike. There is a wealth of opportunity for online marketing and I wholeheartedly agree with you that if businesses don't get on board with this, they will surely be left in the dust.

I've only been using LinkedIn for about 3 months. At first I didn't know what to do with it beacuse most of my networking is done face to face. However, this has helped link me to other people in my area and connect me to different "live" networking events. You really get out of it, what you put into it.

A great reminder that I need to do more with the online world. I've had an account on LinkedIn for quite some time and know this is a tool with great opportunity however it's tough to find the time to invest in social networking. I suspect that people who are heavily into online social networking are not doing a lot of face to face networking. I know if I wasn't spending so much time going to networking events I could get more on-line time!

I have been on the Linked In Network for about 4.5 years.
I do not work it real hard, but I do get requests a few times a year from folks that want to be in my "network'

I am developing a web page of new "Missing LinkedIn Tips" that will assist those that are starting with Linkedin. An example - put misspellings of your last name in the Summary field so that people can still find you if they misspell your name.
